fashion on location

Fashion statements may need to be framed by a location to convey a lifestyle concept. The choice of location may compliment or contrast with the wardrobe. For example, a swimsuit designer may insist on a tropical beach location to compliment the fashion campaign. Alternatively, photographing a model wearing urban street fashion in a formal ballroom would create such contrast that the wardrobe would jump out of the image. When location photography is part of a fashion campaign, it may involve significant budgets for travel, lodging, and location costs. With the advances of digital imaging and creative studio lighting, it is possible to reduce production budgets by shooting fashion in a studio and then composing the final image with a location photograph.
